What if an app could tell you how long before you die? I remember growing up in the early ages of the internet there was a website with a death clock on it that you could enter some information and it would give you some randomly generated date that you would die. It wasn’t until I started to write this article did I look it up to see if it still existed. Guess what – it does! So essentially this is the same thing but an updated version for modern times through the form of an app.
This hits theaters just in time for Halloween on October 25, 2019.
In Countdown, when a young nurse (Elizabeth Lail) downloads an app that claims to predict exactly when a person is going to die, it tells her she only has three days to live. With time ticking away and death closing in, she must find a way to save her life before time runs out.
The film stars Elizabeth Lail (“You“, “Dead of Summer”), Jordan Calloway (“Riverdale”, “Black Lightning”), Talitha Bateman (Annabelle: Creation, Geostorm), Tichina Arnold (“Survivor’s Remorse”, “The Neighborhood”), P.J. Byrne (Wolf of Wall Street, “Big Little Lies”), and Peter Facinelli (Twilight franchise, “Supergirl”).
It is written and directed by Justin Dec (Boats, Jennifer Lawrence is Coming) and produced by Zack Schiller (Escape Plan, Midnight Sun), John Rickard (Rampage, How to be Single), Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home, Horrible Bosses 2), and John Morris (We’re the Millers, Dumb and Dumber To).
