Christmas Just Came Early With the ‘Better Watch Out’ Red Band Trailer

This holiday season, you may be home, but you’re not alone. In this fresh and gleefully twisted spin on home-invasion horror, babysitter Ashley (Olivia DeJonge) must defend her young charges (Levi Miller, Ed Oxenbould ) when intruders break into the house one snowy night – or so she thinks.

It’s a home invasion meets Home Alone in a fun horror comedy that is destined to be a cult classic. We have the brand spanking new red-band trailer and poster below!

“Let’s all face it, some of us have become a group of cynical, eye-rolling, scoffing, armchair movie watchers. We speculate on narrative twists, we point at tropes, we even predict box-office returns. Granted, we’ve also become an audience that has gained so much in the language of cinema. The one thing we’ve lost, however, with our understanding of cinema is the wonder, the pure spectator-induced euphoria. Movies are a sport now, we try to deconstruct and measure the tangible worth. A few filmmakers and their films, however, do not accept this. They have the voracity to present us with misdirection, with wonder, with a shifting sense of narration that attempts to make the audience just an audience again. One of these films is the latest from Chris Peckover, Safe Neighborhood.”

Be sure to check out the rest of Eric Haven’s review from Fantastic Fest 2016 when the film was still called SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD before the rights were purchased. Until then check out the trailer below.

BETTER WATCH OUT hits US theaters and VOD on October 6, and arrives in UK theaters on December 8.
