IFC Midnight Invites You to Take the ‘Pledge’ in 2019

Pledge
IFC Midnight

A dark tradition becomes a game of torment in Daniel Robbins‘ frat horror thriller Pledge, which IFC Midnight will be releasing in limited theaters and on VOD platforms January 11, 2019.

The trailer kicks off with a soundtrack that sounds like it was ripped straight out of Stranger Things. Over the next 48 hours the pledges will be tested physically, mental and emotionally. But things go to far.

SYNOPSIS:
Three nerdy college freshmen, who have been rejected and ridiculed by just about every fraternity on campus, are invited to an off-campus to a party at a secluded mansion. There they are treated like princes by the resident brothers and the party is everything they dreamed college would be—beautiful women, drinking, and most importantly, a cool group of guys willing to accept them as one of their own. When the friends are presented with an opportunity to pledge the elite social club, they accept without hesitation. However, as the gruesome, dehumanizing hazing progresses, a more sinister picture of the club emerges.

Pledge would make any freshman think twice about joining Greek life.

Produced by New York-based Stag Pictures in association with BoulderLight Pictures (Dismissed, Bad Match), the film stars Zack Weiner (Uncaged), Phillip Botello (“Criminal Minds”) and Zachery Byrd (“Blindspot”) as nerdy freshmen pitted against menacing frat brosCameron Cowperthwaite (“American Horror Story: Cult”), Aaron Dalla Villa (“Duels”), andJesse Pimentel (“Resident Evil 7: Biohazard”).
