Coming out of Tokyo Game Show, a new trailer dropped for upcoming Microsoft exclusive, The Medium from Bloober Team; the acclaimed studio behind the Layers of Fear games, _Observer< and Blair Witch. In this latest trailer we get a deeper look at protagonist Marianne, the mysterious girl known as Sadness and we get a short glimpse at Troy Baker as the games antagonist, The Maw.
The Medium will use the new Solid State Drive in the Xbox Series X [and Series S] consoles to allow the player to switch between worlds at the press of a button. The game shares more than just the dual reality element with Konami’s Silent Hill franchise as the game also boasts Akira Yamaoka as composer, with vocals by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. Yamaoka and McGlynn are both veterans of the Silent Hill franchise.
Anyone who has played Bloober Team’s previous offerings will know that they are the masters of seamless, ever-shifting environments, so this is all very exciting. Just what is The Maw? What does it want? Who is Sadness and how is she connected to Marianne?
All will be revealed when The Medium releases in December of 2020. Pre-Orders for the game are available on Xbox Series X and PC right now.
