Nightdive Studios presented fans with a brand-new gameplay trailer during DreadXP’s Indie Horror Showcase. The new trailer gives fans a look at the blood-curdling phenomena that occurred at Outpost #31. The Thing: Remastered is a restoration of the original 2002 survival horror shooter game inspired by the 1982 film.
In the isolating arctic tundra, a shape-shifting alien has begun taking over the crew of U.S. Outpost #31 research facility. Players step into the boots of Captain J. F. Blake, the leader of the Special Forces team sent to investigate the facility. However, being trapped in by the elements with the fear of infection from the unknown entity sets the crew into a spiraling paranoia. Keep your squad together and calm in order to survive the alien threat.
Players will be able to command a squad of four NPC’s including Soldier, Medic, and Engineer classes through the 20 terrifying levels. Influence your squads’ psychological state by gaining their trust, if not, they’ll become defiant or succumb to the paranoia. However, be cautious – someone in your crew may not be their true selves.
The remastering will include upgraded models, textures, 4k 120 FPS visuals, and enhanced lighting and atmospheric effects.
The Thing: Remastered will release to PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and for PC via Steam and GOG.
