Kicking off the haunting of the Future Games Show, developer Pasquale Scionti’s Whispers in the Fog brought audiences into its atmospheric world. It’s a mix of classic horror games like Slender and Blair Witch – but will the light beacon in the distance be a safe haven or something unnerving?
Whispers in the Fog is a first-person psychological horror game where players wake up in the middle of a foggy forest, with no memory of how they got there. Armed with only a flashlight to guide you, players must navigate through the eerie woods. However, shadowy figures and faint whispers fill the forest, but are they helping or trying to stop you? Uncover strange artifacts, cryptic symbols, and journal pages to reveal the truth of what happened.
While there will not be a traditional combat system to fight potential enemies, players will have to rely on their observational skills and memory to figure out the right paths.
As players navigate through the various decaying locations, dynamic lighting, volumetric fog, and 3-D spatial audio will blur the lines of reality and hallucination. Whispers in the Fog will also feature a nonlinear story, allowing players to explore through the sprawling world and learn the unique stories that lie in each environment.
Currently, a release date has not yet been announced.
Whispers in the Fog is now available to wishlist on Steam.
