Team17 and Black Salt Games have thawed out a DLC for their cosmic horror fishing game, Dredge: The Pale Reach. This marks the first official expansion of the base game with a new icy-themed biome. Players will also be able to experience the DLC at any stage of their playthrough.
The Pale Reach allows players to traverse through ice fields to uncover an even colder story. As you retrace the last steps of a previous crew, players will defrost a story of bitter betrayal. Fret not, you’ll find some familiar faces, new equipment, and profit from your new habitat.
Players can expect 1-3 hours of new playable content, 4 new pieces of equipment, 11 new fish and crab species, and some pretty handy boat upgrades. Navigating through the glacial biome requires some new handiwork, including a boat add-on to smash through the ice and ice blocks to extend the shelf-life of your new catches.
The Pale Reach will not be the only expansion for Dredge. In May, the developers revealed plans for The Iron Rig expansion to be released in Q4. However, in September, the developers gave fans some unexpected news that it would be delayed until 2024. But that fans could look forward to additional content at the end of the year, bringing fans The Pale Reach.
Dredge: The Pale Reach is available now on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and for PC via GOG and Steam.
