During Sony’s State of Play livestream, Capcom confirmed a few exciting announcements for Resident Evil 4 fans. The new Separate Ways DLC will be releasing on September 21 where fans will be able to play Ada Wong’s mission parallel to the main plot of Resident Evil 4. Plus fans will be seeing a new update to The Mercenaries and a new Resident Evil 4 VR Mode.

A New Mission

Under orders from Albert Wesker, the enigmatic spy travels to a rural European village to infiltrate a religious group called Los Iluminados. But what was once a clandestine mission to retrieve ‘the Amber’ quickly goes south as dark secrets of the cult begin to surface. Ada soon finds herself crossing paths with the man she least expects – Leon S. Kennedy. Resident Evil fans will finally get the chance to see Ada’s viewpoints from the nightmarish mission with a few new surprises.

Not only will fans have a small arsenal of firearms from the base game, but players will also be able to equip Ada’s grappling gun. The grappling gun will bring a new fast-paced mechanic as you can swing across chasms, make rapid ascents, and plunge down below. Ada will also be able to wield a device to aid in close-quarters combat. In addition, the device will allow players to launch into melee takedowns from a distance.

Fans will not only be able to play as Ada in the new DLC, but also in the next update for The Mercenaries. Both Ada Wong and her notorious employer, Albert Wesker, will be available alongside the Separate Ways release.
