Atari and Orbit Studio Announce ‘Haunted House’ Release Date

Atari and Orbit Studio announced the release date for the reintroduction of their roguelite game classic, Haunted House. The horror survival game originally launched on Atari 2600 in 1982 and is making a thrilling comeback with its new reimagined gameplay. Haunted House releases on October 12 and fans can expect to slither, tiptoe, and sprint their way across hordes of enemies.

Haunted House follows Lyn Graves, the niece of the renowned treasure hunter Zachary Graves. As Lyn visits her uncle’s mansion with her closest friends, she discovers that the house is infested with monsters. All of which have captured her companions. To rescue them, Lyn must seize all the supernatural enemies. While locating the shattered fragments of a magical urn and putting them back together.

Gameplay

Players navigate through randomly generated room layouts, constantly shifting walls, and face unpredictable enemies to save Lyn’s family and friends. Experience the elements of stealth and puzzling challenges where no two playthroughs are identical. Moreover, exploring the eerie house allows characters to become unlocked, where each contains a special ability. Similarly, combat focuses on stealthy movements and puzzle-solving. As well as an array of traps and items to distract enemies. In addition, the game is overflowing with collectibles and lore inspired by the original Haunted House. Including other cherished classics from Atari’s golden era for fans to enjoy.

Haunted House becomes available on October 12, on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, Atari VCS, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
