Praise Santa: A ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Holiday Special Is Coming To Netflix

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Netflix

You may recall our recent review of the witchiest show to ever take hold of Netflix, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. If not here’sa refresher. Long story short, we basically love it. Like us there’s many who are already anxiously awaiting a second season. With the cancellation of many shows on the streaming giant, that’s not entirely a given. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait for more because we are getting a holiday special. That’s right you witch-lovin’ readers. Sabrina is going to Charlie Brown her way into the holidays and I am so excited that I can’t even stand it.

According to Deadline, the episode is set on the winter solstice to celebrate the longest night of the year. Family will come together around a Yule log (the fire not the dessert) and sing and tell ghost stories. For any pagan family, that Yule celebration could kind of sound familiar, a quiet contemplation of the season change. In true Chilling Adventures of Sabrina form, you know it isn’t going to go that easily. It would seem some unexpected guests show up to throw a wrench in their celebration.

The special lands on Netflix on December 14th. The title? “A Midwinter’s Tale”! It’ll star all the familiar faces you could hope for, from season one. I, for one, am so excited to see Sabrina and her friends and  together again. The Weird Sisters too! I wonder if any of the questions left danging will be answered here. Or if this will be just a fun little stand-alone piece, that’s separate from anything story-line related. Supernaturaldoes that occasionally and those always end up as some of the most enjoyable episodes.

Is it too wrong to hope we get a fuzzy blanket wielding Sabrina standing on a stage telling everyone the heartwarming story of how Satan saved Santa? Just me? Be sure to catch up on the 10-episode first season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrinabefore the holiday special. We’ll have a review up, sometime shortly after release. Praise Santa!
