Take on a haunting case in solo indie dev Midnight Forge’s detective horror Nowhere. A demo for the upcoming ritualistic detective game will launch on Thursday, August 15 on Steam. Alongside the demo announcement, the developer also released a new demo trailer that gives fans a glimpse of the terrors that lay ahead.
Nowhere is an upcoming hardcore-detective-horror game that blends immersive investigative gameplay and classic survival horror mechanics in its Nordic locale. Taking place deep in the forests of Norway, players step into the hiking boots of a detective searching for a group of missing tourists. However, the detective soon finds out that there’s more to the disappearances than initially meets the eye. The investigation takes a supernatural twist and plunges players into a terrifying spin on Norse mythology and the doomed story of the gods after Ragnarok.
The demo will feature around 20-30 minutes of gameplay. This will allow players to get just a taste of what the full game will offer. Players will be able to investigate multiple sites of interest as the puzzle of the missing campers begins to piece together. Unimaginable horrors lurk as players uncover the secrets of an archaic and haunting ritual. Nowhere will also feature a non-linear open world that will allow players to explore and investigate the creepy Scandinavian forest.
A preview look is currently in the works by Gaming Editor Nina Martinez.
The Nowhere demo will be available August 15 for PC via Steam. A projected full launch is estimated for early 2025.
