Frank and Drake tells the story of two people who find themselves entangled in a bizarre conspiracy that poses a threat to both of their lives. Despite occupying the same apartment, fate keeps them apart, ensuring they never meet face to face. Forced to collaborate using sticky notes to communicate, the two must unravel the mystery surrounding their existence.
The Story
Frank is the superintendent of a dilapidated apartment block in Oriole City. He is grappling with the fear of losing his sanity and his fragile connection to the outside world. Meanwhile, Drake, afflicted by a rare allergy to sunlight, leads a nocturnal life. Through their distinct existences, they must forge a relationship, and uncover the truth about their troubled pasts. As well as striving to survive the dangers ahead.
Set in Oriole City, a meticulously crafted and beautifully illustrated environment, filled with intriguing characters and hidden secrets. Frank and Drake set out to explore their surroundings, solve puzzles, and find clues that hold the key to the answers they seek. Although they work independently, their destinies are intertwined, and success relies on the trust and friendship that’s built.
While the mystery unfolds, players are presented with a branching narrative. Where the choices made have consequences on the experiences of both protagonists. Additionally, multiple playthroughs offer new perspectives on the story. Along with unique puzzles and mini-games, rewarding exploration and curiosity. What’s more, the game challenges players to make pivotal decisions and uncover all the hidden truths within this captivating world.
The World’s Approach
Frank and Drake comes to life with a beautiful graphical style, capturing the unsettling and dreamlike nature of their reality. Furthermore, the rotoscoping technique, involving hand-drawn frames over filmed footage, adds an uncanny element that mirrors the characters’ extraordinary lives in an ordinary setting.
