Nicolas Cage Enters the Fog in ‘Dead By Daylight’

Dead by Daylight isn’t afraid to bring iconic horror icons to a trial but only a legend could face them and escape, and who else is up to the task but Nicolas Cage? Nicolas Cage, thespian and genre extraordinaire has joined The Fog as their newest Survivor in their July chapter update.

Alongside the Wicker Man himself, a few updates and cosmetics were also brought in. These include the Greek Legends and the Christmas in July Collections.

His Deadliest Role Yet

With over 100 movie credits, there’s hardly a script Nicolas Cage hasn’t come across. Just as he thinks he’s seen it all, a script passes his desk – Descend Beyond. After becoming mesmerized by the script, Nick takes on the role even against his agent’s advice. Soon after arriving on the island for shooting, Nick is brought to a dark temple by the ‘production team’. As the cameras begin to roll, Nick recites his lines and paints strange symbols onto a stone altar. However, a strange black fog begins to emanate from inside, and soon, overtakes him.

Lights, Camera, Action!

When facing off against some of the most fearsome Killers, Nicolas Cage brings three unique perks to the fight: Dramaturgy, Scene Partner, and Plot Twist.

Dramaturgy

Nicolas Cage brings a certain je ne sais quoi to the set and to his performances. While running, players can press the Active Ability button to run with knees high for 0.5 seconds and gain 25% Haste for 2 seconds. However, a random effect is also applied. The effects include Exposed, extended Haste duration, Scream without Killer notification, or gaining a random Rare or higher item with add-ons attached. Players should note that the same effects will not happen twice in a row. In addition, Players enter an Exhausted state for 60/50/40 seconds, and the perk cannot be used while Exhausted.

Scene Partner

He’s a very giving actor in scenes and in-game. While inside a Killer’s Terror Radius, Scene Partner will activate. If looking at a Killer, Nick will scream, revealing the Killer’s Aura for 3/4/5 seconds. However, there is a 50% chance you will scream again, which will cause the Aura-reveal to last for an additional 2 seconds.

Plot Twist

Sometimes, a unique take is what’s needed to make the scene and Nick gives the line reading of his life. While in the Injured State, Plot Twist becomes available. Once crouched and motionless, press the Active Ability button to silently enter the Dying State. After activating, Grunts of Pain and Pools of Blood are suppressed and you gain the ability to fully recover. When a Player recovers, they will gain 50% Haste for 2/3/4 seconds. However, Plot Twist can only be used once a Trial, unless the Exit Gates are powered, then the ability will reactivate.

Along with these unique perks, Nicolas Cage’s debut will also premiere a few new Cosmetics. While his wardrobe was monitored on-set, his fits on his days off really let his personality shine. The Sunset Racer and Gorgon Drip, approved by Nicolas Cage himself, are also available for purchase in the in-game store.
