Nightdive Studios to Release 90’s Classic ‘PO’ed: Definitive Edition’

let's get cooking, angrily

While many companies took to social media to announce their April Fool’s pranks, Nightdive Studios surprised fans with their very serious announcement announcing their release of PO’ed: Definitive Edition. PO’ed: Definitive Edition will include a remastering of the classic adrenaline-filled space shooter, quality-of-life updates, a new game mode, and new game mechanics. The Doom-inspired ultra-violent classic will release to PC and consoles soon.

Originally released in 1995 for 3DO, PO’ed follows a chef attempting to survive an alien invasion and crash landing. Armed with his trusty tools – a frying pan and drill – he sets out to deliver justice for his fallen comrades. Players could later equip alien weapons and use items like a jetpack and rocket launcher to wreak havoc on any alien that crosses their path.

The new PO’ed will have several key features following Nightdive Studios’ work that’ll please fans new and old. The game will have updated quality-of-life features to enhance gameplay visuals, antialiasing, increased framerate, and up to 4K 144 FPS visuals. In addition to visual updates, a new difficulty mode will also be added for some deliciously hardcore gameplay. Nightdive will also include 15 achievements, localization support, and give players total freedom. Well, total freedom to navigate on foot or use jetpacks to fly through the 25 3D environments.

PO’ed: Definitive Edition will release later this year to PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and for PC via Steam.
