Are you ready to immerse yourself in a nightmarish adventure like no other? Ebb Software has announced that their popular debut game, Scorn, is coming to PlayStation 5 late this year. Moreover, the game promises players a thrilling yet horrifying experience like no other due to its exclusive DualSense features.
Scorn takes place in a strange biomechanical world, filled with decayed civilizations and grotesque creatures. Meanwhile, players are trapped and stranded while navigating through this eerie environment. However, this is not a typical shooter, as ammo and life are scarce, and direct confrontation can lead to death. Players must rely on their wits and strategic thinking to survive and progress in the game.
DualSense Immersion
In a PlayStation blog post, Technical Artist Jovan Vuckovic from Ebb Software spoke about the technical process of bringing the nightmarish reality to players. In Scorn, players interact with the world primarily using their hands, and many of these interactions are accompanied by pain. The haptic feedback on the DualSense controller amplifies one’s sensation by adding an extra layer of realism to the experience. Whether it’s feeling a low rumble or intense vibrations during dangerous encounters, players in the game’s world are synchronizing with in-game sounds. Moreover, players can differentiate between the left and right-hand sensations, further enhancing the overall experience.
Another notable feature is the adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller. When players use tools and weapons for survival, each weapon or tool has a distinct feeling of weight. This allows players to feel the differences as they navigate through the game. For example, the melee tool provides resistance in the trigger, heightening the sense of impact and force during interactions with the environment and enemies.
In terms of visual feedback, the DualSense controller’s light bar serves as an indicator of the player’s health status. Meanwhile, the light bar offers immediate information on the player’s remaining health points by changing color.
Furthermore, Ebb Software is proud to announce that a physical version of Scorn will be available alongside the digital release. The physical version includes bonus content such as a digital artbook and the original soundtrack composed by Aethek & Lustmord. Additionally, selected retailers will offer an exclusive SteelBook edition of the game, providing fans with even more ways to immerse themselves in Scorn’s mesmerizing world.
Scorn is currently available on Steam and Xbox Series X|S.
