Navigate your escape, unravel puzzles, and engage in fights for survival with Bad Dreams – now available on Steam. Bad Dreams is a VR horror game by French indie studio, Creative VR3D, which promises to deliver a unique VR gameplay. The game focuses on authentic gestures and offers a singular experience, where nightmares become reality.
The Story
As your eyes grow heavy and your muscles relax, the tv’s sound fades away from a long workday, where you plunge into a deep sleep. You awaken on a serene white sandy shore. A gentle breeze sends shivers down your spine as the sun sinks below the horizon. After a stroll along the beach, you stumble upon a massive, ominous bunker. The gate swings open as you get closer, tempting you inside.
Driven by curiosity, you give in to your urge to explore, revealing a vast subterranean complex. However, what began as a perfect dream quickly turns into a nightmare when you realize you’re not alone. Now, you must figure a way out and fight for your survival or your sanity.
Gameplay
Bad Dreams immersive gameplay tests the senses. Observe, listen, sense, touch, and maneuver as evil lurks around you. The game achieves this by doing things such as making players plug their nose or shield their ears to evade deadly encounters. Similarly, you must meticulously monitor your sanity meter, making sure to keep it as low as possible. To help with this, your wristband will emit a signal if madness is approaching. The quicker it is, the closer you are to insanity.
In addition, flashlights or matches help navigate around the world, but player’s must take care not overuse them. When the resources are overused, the battery will die, and you will succumb to the darkness. Throughout the game, hordes of zombies, mutants, and other enemies will continue to try and harm you. Nonetheless, you can fight back using a range of weapons. Your journey is also riddled with puzzles demanding resolution where hard choices must be made.
Bad Dreams is currently accessible on Steam, PlayStation4, and PSVR. Moreover, the game is only available for VR.
