The casting news for Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 has been hot these past few weeks! We’ve got original Beetlejuice stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara returning to reprise their original characters alongside series newcomers Jenna Ortega (as Lydia Deetz’s daughter), Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux. And now we can add Willem Dafoe to this already stacked cast!
Dafoe has signed on to play a “law enforcement officer in the afterlife”. What that role is going to entail? Your guess is as good as mine! Everything is being kept pretty tightly under wraps right now but as time goes on I’m sure we’ll learn more. With Keaton, Ryder, and O’Hara returning and Ortega playing Ryder’s daughter one can only hope we get to see a lot more dysfunctional family hijinks encouraged by the ghost with the most himself.
Dafoe is sure to fit right in with the weirdness that lives in Beetlejuice’s world. As it says above, we know nothing about the plot or story just quite yet. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled for more Beetlejuice 2 casting updates and as soon as know anything, we’ll be the first to tell you.
