Unholy is an intense psychological horror game where players take on the role of a young mother, Dorothea. Set in two realities: one the brutalist post-soviet Eastern European town, and the dark and twisted world of the Eternal City.
Dorothea wishes to escape a cult, the Spring of Eternity, but before she can leave, the high priest captures her son’s soul. The high priest, with Gabriel’s soul, flees to the underworld Eternal City.
Credit: Duality GamesWeaponize your emotions, infiltrate, or use masks to navigate the realities to find your son. By using your emotions, Dorothea can illuminate pathways, trigger mechanisms, overload circuits, and destroy objects in your environment. However, you can also use these emotions against hostiles. Players can confuse, lure, or even damage opponents if utilizing emotions correctly.
Hostiles in the unholy world utilize masks, and this could make your break your chance for survival. Players can build, customize, and improve Dorothea’s abilities through the masks they create. By improving your abilities, players can confuse enemies or even impersonate hostiles until you reach safety.
