Vincent Adinolfi and DreadXP’s melancholic horror, Heartworm, is now available. Heartworm serves as a modern love letter to the low-poly horror genre with inspirations from like Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

Players follow Sam, a young woman consumed by grief over the loss of her grandfather. While navigating the perilous journey of grief, she turns to a last resort found on an online forum. The remote house in the mountains promises one more chance of reuniting with loved ones but with a cost: no one has ever returned. Armed with only her camera, Sam is determined to find answers.

Heartworm features an intricate, honest story about grief while utilizing classic puzzle-solving elements, limited combat, and PSX-style visuals. Players can use optional tank controls to reimmerse themselves to the 90s or use a scaled back modern control system.

“It still feels kind of unbelievable that this day is here.”, says Vincent Adinolfi, lead developer of Heartworm. “I just feel so lucky and privileged to have been given the opportunity to create something I’ve dreamed about, and I tried my best to use that opportunity to the fullest.”

A review from Gaming Editor Nina Martinez is currently underway: “Heartworm, like grief, gnaws its way into reality.”

Heartworm is now available for PC via Steam.
