The first teaser trailer for Alex Garland’s newest film has dropped and it seems like we’re going to be haunted by…something. Joining with A24 for the second time (the first was for ‘Ex Machina’) he’s bringing us ‘Men’. While most of the plot details seem to be kept intentionally under wraps, for now we do have a small blurb of what’s to come:
“A young woman goes on a solo vacation in the English countryside after the death of her ex-husband.”
That’s all we’ve got so far! And knowing Garland that’s all I really need. The trailer doesn’t give away much either, but we are treated to star and recent Oscar-nominee Jessie Buckley in increasingly ominous situations with a haunting score cut with sound bites of Buckley, and maybe some others, vocalizing. The teaser may be intentionally very vague but it’s got just enough to keep us excited for more.
A24’s ‘Men’ starring Jessie Buckley, Rory Kinnear, and Paapa Essiedu will be released in theaters on May 20th, 2o22. For now, check out the trailer below!
