After being teased at the end of The Devil in Me, Supermassive Games has just released the first trailer for The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020. The minute-long Directive 8020 trailer premiered during Gamescom’s livestream earlier today.

From the studio behind cult hits Until Dawn and The Quarry, Supermassive’s second season of its anthology series will kick off with Directive 8020. While the trailer doesn’t reveal too much, fans can see Lyshana Lynch as the main protagonist and a shape-shifting alien.

Here is a game overview via Supermassive Games:

“Hunted by an alien organism capable of mimicking its prey, the crew of the Cassiopeia must outwit their pursuers to make it home alive. To help them survive, the choices you make are more important than ever! Evade real-time threats where any step could be your last. Decide who to trust in a world where anyone could be a deadly alien impostor.”

Alongside the overview, fans can also expect a few key features:

  • Next-Gen Cinematic Survival Horror – Experience immersive cinematic storytelling and edge-of-your-seat horror on a deep space mission to save humanity
  • Real-Time Alien Threats – Evade a deadly alien threat that roams the dark corridors of the ship, intent on eradicating human life. Overcome your enemies using improvised weapons, lightning reflexes, and stealth.
  • Trust No One – Encounter an alien lifeform that perfectly imitates its prey. Years of training and trust are lost among the crew when their enemy hides in plain sight. Who is human and who is not? Your choices are now more important than ever!

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020 will launch for PlayStation 5 and for PC via Steam and Microsoft.
