‘Ghost Files’ from Watcher returns just in time for the spooky season. If you are unfamiliar with the show, like I am, I found it to be a fresh and interesting approach to paranormal research. How so? Hosts Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej take a more comedic approach to ghost hunting. Don’t believe me? At one point during their investigation that had to debunk if a noise was a fart, or a spirit making noise in the hallway. So if you are down with this humor being mixed into your serious paranormal investigations, then the ‘Ghost Files’ will be your new favorite paranormal show. If you prefer things to stay a bit more respectful with a serious tone then you can close this article right now!

To kick off a new season Ryan and Shane take on the infamous Waverly Hills Sanatorium. How can they be comedic in a place where so many people died? Simple. Most of these paranormal shows at this point feed on the personality and the investigation approach of the hosts just as much as the places they are visiting.

The team does a great job of giving history of the areas they are investigating and setting up the stories prior to looking for evidence. Something else to point out about the show is the wonderful production value. From the footage to the cutaway scenes that show a detailed map of the building it is top notch. Lastly if you are new ghost hunting they also do a great job of explaining what each piece of equipment is intended for as they are using during their investigation.
