Friends, it never goes well when folks turn to occult rituals to try to connect with a lost loved one but as long as movies keep getting made about how wrong it can go, I’ll keep watching them! New film ‘From Black;’ directed by Thomas Marchese and starring Anna Camp (‘Pitch Perfect,’ True Blood) is on it’s way to Shudder to show us further evidence that this is a bad idea. We got a trailer this week and let me just say, get ready for a haunting peek at ritualistic folk horror. If you only know Camp from ‘Pitch Perfect’ (like me) this is going to be a huge departure. I’m excited to see what how she does here because this does not look like a tame thriller, this looks straight up terrifying!

Synopsis
A young mother, crushed by guilt after the disappearance of her young son 5 years previously, is presented with a bizarre offer to learn the truth and set things right. But how far is she willing to go, and is she willing to pay the terrifying price for a chance to hold her boy again?
