The nominations are in for the 92nd annual Academy Awards and genre films have made their presence known in 2020!
The nominations were announced Monday morning, hosted by actress Issa Rae and John Cho. The Academy Awards air Sunday, Feb. 9 — with no host — on ABC.
With nominations for such films as ‘Joker,’ ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,’ ‘Parasite,’ and ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ provided a healthy dose of genre films. Check out the full list below.

So there you have it. The 2020 genre films that received Oscar Nominations in 2020. What were some of your snubs? I personally thought Jennifer Kent’s ‘The Nightingale,’ Ari Aster’s ‘Midsommar’ and ‘Us’ should have received some nominations and specifically Lupita Nyong’o for her fantastically creepy performance.
