We have been treated to a handful of photos from Blumhouse this week showcasing the newest installment to the ‘Halloween’ franchise – and the photos did not disappoint. They teased us with clip montages on Twitter – which got us amped up even more! But the real meat just dropped on our butcher’s table today because Blumhouse has finally released the official trailer for the long anticipated ‘Halloween’ sequel.
You heard that right, sequel. But Tim, there have been so many Halloween films, how on earth can this be the sequel? Glad you asked reader. They have chosen to ignore the rest of the franchise completely including Halloween Resurrection in 2002 where Jamie Lee Curtis was killed off.
Thankfully she is back! Armed with Activa, guns and long hair she is ready for one final battle between her and her brother, Michael. Myers has new look mask is aged to perfection. Not overdone and retaining all the familiar features or lack thereof fans have grown to love.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Master of horror John Carpenter executive produces and serves as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.
Halloween is also produced by Malek Akkad, whose Trancas International Films has produced the Halloween series since its inception, and Bill Block (Elysium, District 9). In addition to Carpenter and Curtis, Green and McBride will executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner. Ryan Freimman also serves in that role.
