Teravision Games has horror fans getting silly for the Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game title that’s in development. In cooperation with their new publisher, IllFonic, they revealed a gameplay first look during Gamescom alongside a new trailer. The original 1988 film became a horror cult classic famous for its absurdity. It added an unpredictably unique spin on blood-thirsty clowns in horror that felt as if it defied conventions. Although the game adaptation has no concrete release date, Teravision only confirmed it’s set to release this year.

Killer Klowns is a 3 v 7 asymmetric horror game where blood-thirsty Killer Klowns are on the hunt for the citizens of Crescent Cove. As Killer Klowns, players team up to catch the humans utilizing their unique abilities. Some of these abilities include Jumbo’s Penta-Shot blaster that can hit 5 targets at once or Rudy’s snaring Popcorn Mines. Meanwhile, Humans have to work together to de-activate the Klown’s Big Top spaceship, escape the map, or keep the townsfolk alive during the round.

Publishing Deal

IllFonic took control of the publishing rights for the Killer Klowns game from Good Shepard after a recent agreement. Gaming fans who may not be familiar with their name on sight might recognize some of the other titles they’ve worked on, including Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, Friday The 13th: The Game, and Predator: Hunting Grounds. The company continues to expand its repertoire, Frankenstein’ing horror cult classics to life within the gaming realm.

The CEO/Co-Founder of IllFonic Charles Brungardt announced “When we first started talking to Good Shepherd Entertainment and Teravision Games about this possibility we were very excited about the IP. Then we got to know the team at Teravision and knew we were going to make this happen. Everyone at Good Shepherd has made the handoff process of this project enjoyable, as there is a lot of behind-the-scenes business in order to make something like this possible.”

All we know is sometime this year the game will hit the market on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series, and Xbox One. Henceforth, eager fans better keep their eyes on the sky because the carnival is coming to town!
