Aaron B. Koontz’s horror western ‘The Pale Door’ is set to be released in theaters, on-demand and on digital platforms August 21.
This is Koontz’s follow-up effort after his horror anthology ‘Scare Package’ got wide praise on Shudder debuting during Joe Bob Briggs ‘The Last Drive-In.’ We were lucky enough to screen ‘Scare Package’ at Panic Fest 2020 to rave reviews.
The idea behind ‘The Pale Door’ is a unique one. Set in the old west a gang of train robbers set out for their biggest heist of all only to find the treasure they are looking for is much more trouble than a treasure.
The Dalton gang find shelter in a seemingly uninhabited ghost town after a train robbery goes south. Seeking help for their wounded leader, they are surprised to stumble upon a welcoming brothel in the town’s square. But the beautiful women who greet them are actually a coven of witches with very sinister plans for the unsuspecting outlaws -and the battle between good and evil is just beginning.
