Social Deduction Horror “Deceit 2” Free-to-Play For PC, Consoles

The only sociably acceptable way to stab your friends in the back.

Gather your friends for a round of utter chaos, deception, and betrayal – Deceit 2 is now free to play. World Makers social horror deduction game, Deceit 2, is relaunching for their free-to-play model. Available starting today, PC players can play for free. A console update will be available on April 3rd for PlayStation and Xbox.

“It wasn’t an easy decision moving to a free-to-play model,” says James Thompson, CEO at World Makers, “but we think it’s the right call to reduce the barrier to entry and make sure more people can enjoy Deceit 2.” Players who have already purchased the game will receive the Werewolf DLC, three Crypt Keys, in-game currency, and a Season One pass as a token of appreciation from the developers. The Werewolf DLC will include the Wyrtorn Terror, the first Terror added since the game first launched last year. Players will also get The Chemist role, a neutral Curse that causes players to poison all members to win the Ritual. Plus, Project Wurgen, a new map set in a corrupt facility that bore inhumane experiments and created the Wyrton, will also be available to all players.

The free-to-play era will bring in new mechanics to the game, including Seasons. Seasons are events that will allow players to unlock rewards and rewards playtime. Currently, the Pre-Season is live and the first Season, “Humble Beginnings” will launch on April 3rd. In addition to events, new skins, loading screens, and more unlockable items will be available in waves throughout the Season. Currently, new Seasons are planned to be released every two months with new and more enticing items for players. The developers also have future limited-time events planned out for players. Including, an Easter-themed event coming in April.

Deceit 2 is now free for PC via Steam. The free-to-play models for PlayStation and Xbox consoles will launch on April 3rd.
