Sony’s State of Play Announces “Silent Hill 2”, “Until Dawn” And More

Horror fans rejoice – several hotly anticipated trailers dropped during Sony’s State of Play including Silent Hill and Until Dawn. In addition to these continuations, a few new horror titles and PS VR2 editions made an appearance at the showcase.

Silent Hill fans got their first surprise of the showcase with the Silent Hill: The Short Message announcement. The new addition to the franchise follows Anita, who receives a message from her friend Maya to meet her at an apartment block. However, these apartments are infamous for their dark streak of alleged suicides. What first seems like a dream becomes a nightmare as Anita flees from horrific creatures in an ever-changing building.

After the new title, fans were treated with an update for Bloober’s Silent Hill 2 Remake. Silent Hill 2 follows James Sunderland after he receives a letter from his dead wife, Maria, asking him to go to Silent Hill. However, the town feeds off the psyche of its visitors, throwing James into a grief-filled, guilty, and punishing experience. The trailer shows fans a sneak peek into James’ combat abilities against a few familiar faces.

Following the news of the Until Dawn film adaptation in early January, Supermassive came out swinging with more news. Until Dawn is getting a remastering for PS5 from developer Ballistic Moon. The interactive horror follows eight young adults who must survive a harrowing night in the Blackwood Mountains.

From Bioshock creator Ken Levine and Ghost Story Games, comes Judas, a narrative first-person shooter. Players take on the role of Judas amongst a disintegrating ship with one of two choices: make alliances with your enemies or let it burn.
