‘Blink,’ starring Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets, The Book of Boba Fett) and directed/co-written by Spenser Cohen (Moonfall, Extinction), is the first project from the Scream Gems Horror Lab, an initiative from Sony’s genre label Screen Gems and Scott Glassgold’s production company Ground Control. The incubator program collaborates with up-and-coming filmmakers to produce horror shorts with the primary goal of developing this new, original content into feature films. The short will debut at SXSW as part of the Midnighters Short Film block on March 13th and then debut the next day on Youtube. Check out the teaser trailer and synopsis below.
SYNOPSIS:
After being violently pushed from a window, Mary wakes up in the hospital, almost completely paralyzed. Trapped inside the prison of her own body, Mary’s only way to communicate is by blinking her eyes. She tries to warn the nurse that a sinister, inhuman force is trying to kill her. But when strange things begin happening around her, she realizes it may be too late to stop it.
