Peter Dinklage is most known for his role as the drinking, all-knowing Tyrion Lannister on ‘Game of Thrones.’
Now, he is about to take on another iconic character in the upcoming reboot of the 1984 cult classic ‘Toxic Avenger.’
‘Toxic Avenger’ was largely ignored upon its release. It later became popular midnight movie at the legendary Bleecker Street Cinema in New York City. This propelled to its current status as a cult classic, and would spawn three sequels between 1989 and 2000. The film was produced and directed by Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman, and released by their company Troma Entertainment. Troma is known for its low-budget, indie content, mostly in the horror genre.
Herz and Kaufman are serving as producers on this reboot, and Macon Blair is set to write and direct. Blair starred in 2013’s ‘Blue Ruin’ and 2015’s ‘Green Room.’ He also made his directorial debut in 2017 with ‘I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore.’ Dinklage’s past credits also include ‘My Dinner with Hervé,’ based on the life of Hervé Villechaize, ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ and, ironically, ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’
