Last year we were lucky enough to catch ‘V/H/S/99‘ at Fantastic Fest and the found footage franchise is back for 2023! Instead of a trip to the brink of Y2K madness we are going back in time to 1985 for another set of anthology nostalgic goodness.
The Found Footage sub-genre can definitely be hit and miss, but the ‘V/H/S/’ franchise has been able to keep pumping out quality films for years now. I expect no different from our latest set of directors tackling new segments in ‘V/H/S/85.’ The new directors includeDavid Bruckner (Hellraiser), Gigi Saul Guerrero (Bingo Hell), Scott Derrickson (The Black Phone), Natasha Kermani (Lucky) and Mike Nelson (Wrong Turn). ‘V/H/S/85’ will be the sixth installment in the franchise.
SYNOPSIS:
An ominous mixtape blends never before seen snuff footage with nightmarish newscasts and disturbing home video to create a surreal, analog mashup of the forgotten 80s.
Produced by Joshua Goldbloom, Brad Miska, David Bruckner, Radio Silence, James Harris, Michael Schrieber, Adam Boorstin, ‘V/H/S/85’ is coming to Shudder October 6 and will have its premiere at Fantastic Fest this September.
