DC just dropped a doozy of a trailer for the Robert Pattison led ‘The Batman’ film and it looks fantastic.
This is our first look at everyone in action and it did not disappoint. When the first chord of Nirvana’s “Something in the Way” hit it set the tone for the gritty universe DC continues to build through the Batman legacy. Director Matt Reeves said the film is only 25%-30% shot due to COVID but we still get a lot in the trailer.
The trailer plays out like one long cat and mouse game with The Riddler (Paul Dano) leading the way challenging ‘The Batman.’ We also get our first look at the Penguin (Colin Farrell) and Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz.)
With a character like The Riddler I could easily see an “I Love Bees” type of marketing effort from W.B. similar to what they did with ‘The Dark Knight’ campaign that had fans solving puzzles all across the country. If they do, I am here for it.
‘The Batman’ is set to hit theaters sometime in 2021.
