Horror dorks and Cenobites rejoice—the trailer for Hellraiser is here!
Hulu takes on the gruesome and brilliant mind of Clive Barker in the highly anticipated reboot of Barker’s 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart. Directed by ‘V/H/S’ alum David Bruckner and oozing with violence, creepiness, and an ancient puzzle box, it’s sure to be one hell of a good time.
The reboot follows struggling addict Riley (Odessa A’zion) as she confronts the demonic and sadomasochistic forces responsible for her brother’s disappearance. Unbeknownst to her, these ‘forces’ come in the form of Cenobites, beings from another dimension that are hellbent on inflicting pain and suffering.
Credit: HuluI’m excited to see a female portraying The Priest (also known as Pinhead) this time around. Actress Jamie Clayton will portray the notorious nail-headed demon, and from the looks of it, she’s not holding back at all.
And I can’t wait to see her kill it.
Barker himself will produce alongside Marc Toberoff (‘Prey,’ ‘Pirhana 3D’). It’s a breath of fresh air to see Barker—who previously directed the original film—return after spending many years out of the spotlight, save for 2020’s Books of Blood. Hulu’s support of the horror master, as well as their dedication to bringing his work to life, holds a special place in my heart.
