It’s been thirty years since Edward Scissorhands graced the silver screen for the first time. The iconic character introduced audiences to a lovely layer of loneliness and a unique appreciation for outsiders. Director Tim Burton‘s atypical Christmas film is a fairytale at heart. From the picture-perfect pastel suburbs courtesy of production designer Bo Welch to the emotional screenplay from Caroline Thompson, Edward Scissorhands is a sweet and somber masterpiece. However, it is Danny Elfman‘s score that provides the poignant pulse of the film and aptly captures the essence of Edward himself.

To celebrate the film’s anniversary, Waxwork Records has released a gorgeous album featuring 180 gram “Ice Sculpture Blue With Snow Splatter” colored vinyl, new artwork by Ruiz Burgos, deluxe packaging, old style gatefold jackets with satin coating, a 12″x12″ art print insert, and re-mastered audio for vinyl from the original masters. Pre-orders are on sale through the Waxwork website. We may not be able to hold each other, but we’ll be able to hold this stunning soundtrack on vinyl soon.
