We received some exciting news from Gamescom this year regarding 2025. The audience was given a preview of the new Resident Evil game titled *Resident Evil Requiem*.

There is much to explore, including a new story and characters. The upcoming demo will feature new enemies, innovative gameplay mechanics, and much more.

Prepare to return to the world of Resident Evil; the start of the trailers begins with a familiar face, Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft. Her mother returned from a long day at work.

While Grace is typing away on her laptop, and then motions towards her mother to hold her hand, but then quickly pulls away when told to get some sleep.

A mysterious phone call interrupts the moment and asks for “Ms. Ashcroft” and not “Mrs. Ashcroft.”

Grace responds with a simple answer, and this launches the demo into the gameplay, where we are shown the gameplay mechanic of the third-person point of view, which reaches the rising climax of Alyssa being killed off-screen.

This traumatic experience at the Wrenwood Hotel leaves Grace scared from that moment on.

Then the screen fades to black.

The next trailer shows Grace from a first-person perspective, with players able to switch to third-person for a deeper gameplay experience.

Changing the field of vision for the player when this unknown monster walks in front of Grace.

This adds horror to the chase and balances switching for better gameplay.

Resident Evil Requiem comes out February 27, 2026, on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series.
