Fans of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have been hearing stirrings of their latest film for a little while now. As it’s already hit festivals some may have even gotten an early peek at their latest feature collaboration. Now the rest of us can finally get a feel for what the cosmic horror masterminds have come out of the pandemic with. Entertainment Weekly dropped the trailer and the new poster for Something In The Dirt today along with a short interview with the writing and directing team.

Although Benson and Moorhead have been working on this particular script for about a decade they finally decided to make it as the pandemic raged. It was filmed mostly in their apartments and outside of their producer, Dave Lawson, there wasn’t really much of an on set crew to speak of.

“It actually takes place in our apartments, which makes for the easiest commute to set ever,” said Moorhead. “Production-wise, we had a remote art team that was masked-up and dropping all off our stuff.

“It’s funny, a lot of times Aaron and I are not really in the scene together, because the other person is operating camera,” added Benson. “Yeah, it was a really interesting experience, often times performing to wallpaper.”

Check out the trailer below and catch ‘Something In The Dirt’ in theaters November 4th, 2022.
